In Scripture, God reveals Himself in many ways—Father, Shepherd, Redeemer, and Creator. One of the lesser-known names is El Yalad, meaning “God who gives birth.” This name reminds us that our life did not begin by chance. We were intentionally birthed by God’s will, sustained by His Spirit, and held in His love. Deuteronomy 32:18 says, “You neglected the Rock who begot you, And forgot the God who gave you birth.”

When life feels overwhelming or when we struggle with identity, El Yalad calls us back to the truth: We belong to Him. Just as a mother carries her child, nourishes it, and feels every movement, so God carries us in His heart. He not only formed us, but He continues to nurture and guide us toward His purposes.

Today, take a moment to rest in the reality that your existence is not random. You were birthed by God’s design. When insecurities rise or doubts whisper, declare: “El Yalad, You gave me life, and You sustain me.” Live with confidence that the One who gave you birth will also provide the strength and care you need today.

Today let us pray. El Yalad, the God who gave me birth, thank You for creating me with intention and love. Help me to walk in the confidence of being Your child, fully known and fully cared for. Amen.
